Acupuncture reduces inflammation and initiates a response in
the brain that releases the natural pain killers called endorphins.
It is based on the understanding that there are 12 channels that run
throughout the body similiar to an electrical system. These channels
have Qi (chee) or energy running through them, and when the Qi
gets obstructed and stops flowing smoothly, there is pain or some kind
of imbalance.
Acupuncture is used to restore balance. It treats all kinds of pain,
and effectively treats many common acute and chronic conditions such
as: migraines, high blood pressure, insomnia, anxiety and depression,
Bell's palsy, fibromyalgia, respiratory and digestive disorders.
Acupuncture works in a series of treatments dependant on the severity
and duration of the condition as well as the response of the patient.
During a session, you typically stay clothed. Acupuncture needles are
literally "babyhair thin", sterized, and used only once. One of the
benefits is that you feel quite refreshed and relaxed after a session.
